Statement of policy
On Health and Safety at Work and Protection of the Environment

Being the Specialist Contractor for the Investigation of Drains, Pipes and Remedial WorksWithout the Excavation, it is our policy in BUDA that in the conduct of our services, we will commit to promote, preserve Health and Safety at Work and Protection of the Environment. Our health, Safety and Environment (HSE) objectives have equal status with our other primary business objectives and the line management is responsible for implementing them. We are committed to maintain our forefront position among leaders in our industry in these matters.

Objectives:

  • Full compliance with legislative requirements and update from time to time in accordance with the latest requirements
  • Take all possible precautions to prevent accidents, occupational diseases and promote the health of our employees
  • Maintain full alert to prevent damage to environment
  • Develop and maintain safe working practice among employees and sub-contractors
  • Develop individual personal responsibility for HSE
  • Encourage the raising of HSE standards within the industry

Scopes

The contents of the Safety are intended to include all of the company's statutory and contractual obligations in relation to safety and health. In particular, the minimum requirements for a site safety manual specified in "Construction Site Safety Manual" published by the Hong Kong Government Works Branch have also been satisfied.

Site Safety and Health Assurance

  1. The aim of monitoring safety and health performance is to aid prediction and control of systems relevant to safety and health, whether they are human activity systems, engineered systems, natural systems or abstract systems. As a safety and health assurance approach, the aim will contribute to Quality Assurance objectives and programmes.
  2. Safety supervisors & officers will be employed where necessary and will have close links with other departments in the project which are responsible for health and safety., With their experience and training they will be able to undertake a preliminary review of occupational health needs.
  3. Where this entails tackling complex problems or gives rise to doubt about the adequacy of arrangements the Company management may seek the advice of an occupational health specialist.

Safety and Health on Working Area

The following potential hazards are identified in BUDA's nature of works and shall be assessed before undertaking such activities in connection with the execution of the works:

  1. Works at height and the associated risks of falls persons or objects;
  2. Work in excavations and other confined spaces;
  3. Handling, use, storage and transportation of materials and substances;
  4. Exposure to hazardous substances;
  5. Exposure to environmental or health risk associated with dust, fumes and vapours;
  6. Exposure to excessive noise levels.
